As you celebrate Valentine's Day, think out of the box and make it special for your partner
Say no to the cheesy card and teddy bears: The cardshop shelves are all full of cards and more cards. Rather than buying the same old heart-shaped card, this year think out of the box. Get into a DIY project and make a card for him/her. If you are a wordsmith, write down special lines for your heartthrob.
Trade gifts for an experience: Rather than losing sleep over what to get, think out of the box. You can plan an activity together. From going to a spa together or a pottery workshop, it can bring you closer. Or if you wish, choose a fun outdoor activity too. Spring up an surprise activity for him/her. If there's a play happening in town and you know your partner loves watching plays, then book it.
Love@home: Create a special evening at home together. If you are in the mood to cook then that is definitely one of the wonderful ways of celebrating love. Make sure that you also think of innovative ways to present the meal in an attractive way. Decorate the table with candle, flowers, play some music. Create the atmosphere and set the mood right. You need not even venture out for a movie. Grab some pop-corns and watch a special film together. You can also choose some DVDs of your favourite American soaps.
Looking back: Take a walk down memory lane together. You can sit together and talk about your early days of relationships. Flip through old letters (if you have) or photo albums. Or just listen to some songs which you both have enjoyed listening in the past.
